Year 3

In Year 3 our Summer topic is 'Food Glorious Food'. We are thinking about the foods we eat and where it comes from as well as thinking about making healthy choices. We have our Eatwell guide to support us.
Our book for this half term links to food and is James and the Giant Peach. The children are discovering about all James' adventures and the many characters he meets on his journey.
In maths we are learning about fractions. We are finding equivalent fractions and also comparing them. The children are investigating all the practical ways to enhance their understanding of fractions.
We are also discovering a range of poems in literacy and the children are creating haiku, chinquapin and calligraphy poems. Class 3 have also performed a number of poems, including Julia Donaldson's 'I've Got a Bowl of Pastry'.

Take a look at our class newsletter below to see what we are learning this term.

Spelling Lists will be added every week for the children to learn at home. Spelling tests will take place every Friday.
